Explore what can be done to create laws and policies that affirm and support the lives of children and adults with disabilities against such challenges as assisted suicide, high unemployment and absence of appropriate job options, lack of accessible/affordable housing, discriminatory policies in health care and Medicare/Medicaid.  What role can the faith community play in affirming the lives of people with disabilities?  For information contact Jan Benton at 202-529-2933; 202-529-2934 (tty); @email.

CCHD’s Sister Margaret Cafferty Development of Peoples Award is presented annually to a group or individual working on the margins that has demonstrated outstanding witness to Gospel values and action on behalf of justice.
