Leadership Institute Sponsors

Sponsors

The Diocesan Educational/Catechetical Leadership Institute began as a collaborative effort by representative leaders from its present sponsor organizations – the Departments of Chief Administrators of Catholic Education and Religious Education (NCEA), the National Conference for Catechetical Leadership (NCCL), and the current Secretariats of Catholic Education and Evangelization & Catechesis (USCCB). After a few years of planning and false starts, they sponsored the first Leadership Institute in the summer of 1997 on The Catholic University of America campus. Within a few years, the annual 5-day program, now offered in early December, was moved to the newly constructed St. Mary's Center for Continuing Formation, located at the rear of St. Mary's Seminary & University, Baltimore, MD. The Sponsors continue to provide input and direction as the Leadership Institute anticipates becoming an Online Leadership Institute beginning in February 2010.
