An arch/diocese or national organization seeking the approval of standards and procedures by the USCCB Subcommittee on Certification for Ecclesial Ministry and Service should follow the four Steps to Gain Subcommittee Approval

The Subcommittee on Certification for Ecclesial Ministry and Service (SCEMS) has a special membership area only for those arch/dioceses and organizations that have:

  • Approved standards and procedures- to facilitate ongoing communication and sharing of best practices and resources among those who do this work.
  • Opened files to begin the approval process- to facilitate walking through the application process, uploading, reviewing and sharing of all the information, templates and resources needed .

The membership website is NOT for individuals seeking certification but for arch/diocesan and organizational staff responsible for implementation of certification standards and procedures.
