Fall Meeting of the National Council of Synagogues - U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops Consultation

The semi-annual meeting between the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and National Council of Synagogues was held at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York, NY on November 18, 2019. The co-chairs of the dialogue are Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, and Rabbi David Straus, Senior Rabbi of Main Line Reform Temple in Wynnewood, PA.

The theme of the day was focused on immigration and the current crisis at the United States' southern border. The group heard presentations from Ms. Eleanor Acer, Senior Director, Refugee Protection at Human Rights First, Mr. Mark Hetfield, President and CEO of HIAS, and Most Rev. Nicholas DiMarzio, Bishop of Brooklyn.

The next meeting will take place on June 15, 2020 and will discuss the topic of promoting civility in the public sphere as faith leaders.
