Meeting of the Shoulder to Shoulder Steering Committee

The Steering Committee of the Shoulder to Shoulder Campaign held their annual in-person meeting on January 30, 2020. Members were presented with an overview of the current landscape of anti-Muslim bigotry and discrimination by staff from the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding, ReThink Media, Muslim Advocates, and Proteus. Staff of the Shoulder to Shoulder Campaign then summarized programs from the 2019 year, including updates on Faith over Fear trainings, their Ramadan Road Trip, and mobilization efforts. They proposed activities for the coming year, including upcoming Faith over Fear trainings in Hickory, NC on February 18-19, 2020 and Nashville, TN on February 28-29, 2020 and commemorating 10 years of the campaign. The staff also discussed organizational topics. Committee members shared updates form their communities including projects devoted to migration and refugees and allyship with the Muslim community.
