PCPCU Releases Document on Ecumenism in the Pandemic

On November 20, 2022, the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity released a working document entitled, "Ecumenism in a Time of Pandemic: From Crisis to Opportunity," which examines the effects of the pandemic on ecumenical relations. The paper is the outcome of a 2021 survey of the Bishops’ Conferences and Eastern Catholic Synods, which the USCCB took part.
According to the PCPCU, the document "aims at offering an initial contribution to reflection in the hope that it may promote further discussion and stimulate dialogue at all levels with other Christians." It identifies both the negative impacts alongside new found opportunities.
