VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- Pope Francis returned to Rome's Casal del Marmo prison for minors April 6 to celebrate the Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord's Supper.

As he did on his first visit to the juvenile detention facility in 2013, the pope washed the feet of 12 inmates, both young men and young women, and told them it was a sign of how much Jesus loves them -- no matter what they have done.

He presided over the Liturgy of the Lord's Passion on Good Friday, April 7, in St. Peter's Basilica. As is customary, the homily was given by the preacher of the papal household, Cardinal Raniero Cantalamessa.

Just a week after he had left the hospital for treatment of a respiratory infection, Pope Francis did not go to Rome's Colosseum that night for the Way of the Cross Service. Instead, the Vatican said, he watched on television from his residence.

But on April 8, he presided over the Easter Vigil Mass, a liturgy that lasted two and a half hours, and included the pope baptizing, confirming and giving first Communion to eight men and women.

Easter dawned bright and sunny in Rome, and Pope Francis celebrated the morning Mass in St. Peter's Square with tens of thousands of people. At noon, he delivered his Easter message and blessing "urbi et orbi" (to the city and the world).

And praying the "Regina Coeli" with visitors in St. Peter's Square Easter Monday, April 10, Pope Francis encouraged all Christians to celebrate with joy the full Octave of Easter.

Here is a video with some of the highlights of the liturgies:
